Rough Itinerary:

Fri Depart Sterling Hts at 8am and Dearborn by 8:45am. Historic Derby DVD’s, Movies & Sitcoms along the way. Kick back and enjoy the ride!! We will make a Meal Stop around 11am. Arrive at the Hotel by 2:30pm. We will get checked in and drop our bags.  At 3 we are headed to Churchill Downs!!  Get settled in, make some bets on the afternoon races, and take plenty of pictures!!  For the first time the Oaks is on in primetime 8pm!!  Around 9pm we are heading back to the Hotel.  Maybe head over to Game On Sports Bar in La Grange for a nightcap and discuss the plan for Derby Day!!

Sat It’s an early day – alot packed into this weekend.  7am we leave the Hotel.  8 – 11 We will kick off this Grand Day with a Fired Up Tailgate Party at Cardinal Stadium Lot just down the street from Churchill Downs.  After the Tailgate Party we’ll head to the Track for a full day of Horse Racing capped off by the Most Exciting 2 Minutes in Sports – the Kentucky Derby!!  Who will be wearing the Roses at the end of the day!!  No rush to leave once we get back to the Bus – we’ll pull the Coolers back out and recap the races and the Derby over a few Cold Ones.  Then we will hang out in Louisville for a while before heading back to the Hotel.  Seasoned Pub & Grill?  Main Street Bourbon & Ale House?  Saturday Night Post Derby discussion.  Who won alot of money!!  Enjoy!!

Sun At 7am we will board the Bus to the Kentucky Derby Museum for a 2 hour visit culminating with a 30 minute historic walking tour of Churchill Downs Race Track!!  • “The Greatest Race,” a 360° 18-minute media experience that will make your heart race and emotions soar • Two floors of family-friendly interactive exhibits • Resident Thoroughbred and companion pony • Access to Gift Shop & Kentucky fare in the Derby Cafe Express • And much more!!  10:30 – 12:30 Louisville Slugger Museum (Where Wood meets Wonder) for a very cool tour that ends with a Souvenir Mini Bat!!  Then we will grab lunch & drinks at the Sports & Social Club in 4th Street Live.  2pm we are heading for home, arriving in the Detroit Area around 8:30pm. Meal Stop around 5pm. More Sports DVD’s, Movies, Sitcoms & Sleeping along the way – and sleeping too!!  Kick back, relax and enjoy the ride!! Plenty of Derby talk along the way!!
